9 People Are Killed In Lagos After A Container Falls Off A Truck.
On Sunday in Ojuelegba, Lagos, an articulated truck carrying a 20-foot container toppled on a commercial bus, killing nine people.
The vehicle lost control while mounting a bridge, according to Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA).
Upon arriving at the site, it was discovered that a truck carrying a 20-foot container had fallen on top of a commercial bus.
“The investigation showed that the truck lost control and slid down the edge of the bridge while the bus was loading up people.
“A total of nine fatalities—four adult men, three adult females, a girl, and a boy—were discovered.
“An adult lady was extricated alive and sent to the trauma center after being suspended from the container load with the help of LASEMA’s forklift,” he said.
Oke-Osanyintolu said that the Lagos State Fire Service and LASEMA’s heavy-duty ambulance were available for rescue operations, and that LASTMA and Nigerian Police were also there to manage traffic.
