11 People Perished From Burn Injuries In The Ore-benin Motorway Crash.

On the Ore-Benin road in Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State, no less than 11 individuals were burned to death on Sunday.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) was informed by Mr. Sikiru Alonge, the Unit Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ore Unit, that a trailer collided head-on with a Marcopollo bus carrying passengers.

Alonge said that the two burning automobiles had rendered the victims unrecognizably burned.

To put out the fire, he said, “We had to call for fire ambulance.”

We cannot identify the passengers’ gender since they were burned beyond recognition, he said.

He said that the Omotosho Step Down Power Station fire ambulance and other supporters’ efforts were required to put out the fire.

Alonge said that while the FRSC staff and other security agencies were occupied managing traffic, the accident created bottleneck on the road.

Similar to the last tragedy, which happened early on Sunday morning at the Ore Toll gate on the Ore-Benin road in Odigbo LGA, 10 passengers were unharmed.

Alonge said that a Toyota Hiace with the license plate number FUG 17 XY was involved in an accident in which seven of the passengers suffered varying degrees of injury. Alonge also stated that excessive speed was to blame for the mishap.

Alonge said that when the cars were brought to the FRSC Unit headquarters, the wounded individuals were transferred to Opeyemi Hospital in Ore for medical attention.

He recommended drivers to follow all traffic laws and regulations and to avoid driving too fast.
