Women from the South South APC gather in support of Tinubu

The South South area of the Progressives Congress (APC) has vowed to back Asiwaju Bola Tinubu’s bid for the presidency of Nigeria in 2023.

The promise was given on Saturday at the South South APC mega event at the U.J. Esuene Stadium in Calabar by the party’s National Women Leader, Dr. Beta Edu, the wife of the governor of Cross River State, Dr. Linda Ayade, and the wife of the presidential candidate, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.

Edu had said that the agreement would provide the party’s presidential candidate with 40 million votes.

She urged them to save their PVCs and said that with the help of Nigeria’s women, the party will undoubtedly win.

“The agreement is for Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to get 40 million votes. APC must be delivered by February 2023, minimum.

“Take excellent care of your PVC; do not let anybody collect it; it represents your vote. By the grace of God, we shall deliver him and Ben Ayade, the candidate for the Northern Senatorial District of Cross River State.

Ayade commended the APC national leadership for allowing the state party to welcome women from all across the South South zone to support Tinubu and his running partner, Kashim Shettima, in her speech.

She said, “We, the South-progressive South’s women, are here today to reaffirm our support and to say we are ready for the newfound optimism for Nigeria.

Governor Ayade greeted the ladies and promised them of the state’s support for successful elections in 2023.

Alphonsus Eba, the state’s APC chairman, stated that Tinubu had received 500,000 votes.
