The governor of Kano State, Ganduje, outlaws street begging

Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the governor of Kano State, has established a team to remove beggars from the state’s streets and hidden crevices.

This was said by Ganduje at a press conference soon after the Tuesday law-making of the individuals with disabilities bill.

He stated how the bill will open the door for the state’s inclusion and advancement of citizens with disabilities.

He said that “the legislation allows for the creation of a board to manage PWDs’ affairs.”

However, Governor Ganduje pledged to provide all necessary assistance to ensure that the board operates in accordance with international norms.

He pointed out that individuals chosen to benefit from the entrepreneurial training at the Dangote Skills Acquisition Centre, Kano, to help them become independent, include People Living With Disabilities, or PWDs.
