The federal government will name Ogun as a cargo airport.

The governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, said Wednesday that the federal government was actively working on plans to designate the state’s Agro Cargo International Airport as an export terminal for non-oil items.

 

The governor also said that a dry port is about to be built in Kajola at the fifth coronation anniversary and 60th birthday reception of the Akarigbo of Remoland, Oba Babatunde Ajayi, held in Sagamu.

 

In addition to allowing commercial organizations in the state to transport merchandise directly from other nations to Kajola, he said that the dry port, which would be an inland container terminal, would also assist to relieve traffic on the highways leading to the ports in Lagos.

 

Additionally revealing that his government was trying to establish a logistics center in Wasimi, Abiodun said that the facility would allow exporters to fill their containers while simultaneously shipping them to their intended destinations.

 

The governor also said that the 93% finished agro cargo airport will function as a profitable logistics and transportation center.

 

When discussing the state government’s initiative to draw in investment, Chief Economic Adviser and Commissioner for Finance Dapo Okubadejo claimed that the current administration had ensured the implementation of some of its policies, making the state the preferred investment location for investors.
