Tell Peter Obi To Resign For Tinubu, the Labour Party Is Advised by Adeyanju

Prior to the 2023 general elections, Deji Adeyanju, an activist and convener of Concerned Nigerians based in Abuja, has urged the Labour Party (LP) to ask its presidential candidate, Peter Obi, to step aside for Asiwaju Bola Tinubu of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a series of tweets on Saturday, he compared the former governor of Anambra State and PDP presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar to business partners, asserting that those who support Obi are also supporting Atiku.

He explained that if Obi steps down for Tinubu, the vote in the South of the country won’t be split, suggesting that LP members should persuade Obi to do the same.

However, the activist advised Nigerians to choose a presidential candidate who has never previously embezzled public cash.

“A vote for Obi is a vote for Atiku,” he said. Do not forget that they ran for office together in 2019 and are both business partners. Give Nigeria a fresh start by electing a candidate who has never previously stolen from the government.

Why not convince your candidate to resign in favor of Asiwaju since you guys are doing South United to prevent another northerner since Labour Party members have stated they don’t mind Tinubu instead of Atiku? This recommendation is excellent,” he wrote.

As may be remembered, Obi served as Atiku’s running mate for the PDP in the 2019 presidential election but switched to the Labour Party in the 2023 election.
