Senator Maeba on the Attack: “They Came to Kill Me”

A friend of PDP presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, Senator Lee Maeba, had his Port Harcourt home assaulted on Thursday, and he claims the assailant intended to murder him.

Roughly 30 suspected thugs stormed the former Rivers South East Senator’s home, wrecking about 5 automobiles in the process.

Maeba responded to the incident by claiming that the assailant was desperately looking for him when they arrived.

However, he said that earlier that day, a specific guy had phoned to alert him about the assault, which he had rejected.

Maeba said that when the assailants showed up, he had just left his home.

He spoke

“A young guy contacted me from a number I don’t recognize and said I’ve done him a favor in the past, but warned me to be caution if I’m at home. They claimed that they had received orders from somewhere to assault my home and me, and I shot them down by saying that I don’t have an issue with anybody.

“I left in my car with my security team to see my mother-in-law. My phone started ringing as I was about to enter my mother-in-home; law’s my nephew had just picked it up and shouted, “Our house is under assault.”

They opened the gate by firing at it. One bullet would solve this Atiku issue, they said as they scaled the second gate, tied up the security guard, stole his phone, and entered the complex. My senior brother was standing there as they landed on him.

According to Rivers State’s police commissioner, Effiong Okon, an inquiry has already started.

The commissioner promised that he would go to the incident’s site personally.
