Police report a failed kidnapping attempt along the Lagos-Ibadan highway.

The attempted kidnapping of commuters on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway on Friday night, October 28, has been verified by the Oyo state police command.

 

According to a statement made by SP Adewale Osifeso, the state police command’s spokesman, operatives of the command assigned to the toll-gate division got information of intermittent gunshots fired at the Dominion University end of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway at about 6.35 pm on Friday.

 

He said that the police officers and other security personnel collaborated to stop the assault. He said that during the gunfight, an officer who was part of the command died.

 

 

The Divisional Police Officer quickly organized a team made up of local hunters, tactical teams, police mobile personnel, and anti-crime patrol personnel to provide immediate assistance and subsequent assistance.
