Peter Obi’s campaigns, “Vote for Me Based on Competence”

Mr. Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) nominee for president in the general election of 2023, has urged Nigerians to support him on the basis of his ability rather than their feelings of entitlement or ethnicity.

The former governor of Anambra State remarked on Sunday during the Presidential Town Hall series hosted by Arise TV that Nigerians should vote for him because he can get the nation out of its present situation.

He clarified that it is not anyone’s turn but rather the turn of the young and the female.

Because Peter Obi is from the South East, a Christian, an Igbo guy, or because it is his time, he advised Nigerians not to vote for him.

He clarified,

“Since I am qualified, I urge you to support Peter Obi in the election. because I’m capable. I am aware of what has to be done to save our nation.

In order to address the nation’s security issues, Obi emphasized the need of bolstering and reinvigorating the local vigilante system and having it cooperate with the police.

The presidential aspirant also criticized the current administration for being ineffective in preventing the assault on the train between Abuja and Kaduna and other security issues that Nigerians confront.

Obi said that if he had been elected president, he would have taken other actions to stop the catastrophe that Nigerians are now experiencing.

Before the Abuja-Kaduna train incident, he said, the intelligence processor had failed; according to the material at hand, there had been prior efforts and intelligence that had been disregarded, as well as indicators of instability along that rail path.

He continued by saying that information was not properly processed or given the necessary attention, which he would have addressed right away to prevent the catastrophe.

The presidential candidate noted that when it occurred, government action and communication were inadequate, highlighting the fact that if he had been commander-in-chief, they would have acted quickly, maintained communication throughout the process, and at the very least, shown consistent empathy to the families of those involved.
