Once I Leave Office, I’ll Be Far From Abuja To Prevent Issues, Says Buhari

President of Nigeria Muhammadu Buhari has often said that once his term ends on May 29, 2023, he would return to his birthplace of Daura, Katsina State, to relax and escape issues.

The President made this statement on Sunday in Abuja while receiving citizens of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) for a Christmas tribute.

“I really appreciate you coming to see me, and I congratulate you on this wonderful day” (Christmas). I’ve told several of my coworkers that when I leave the workplace, I’ll attempt to be as far away from Abuja as I can be, so that nobody can cause me any more problems,” he added.

In spite of technology, Buhari said, “I will be in Daura, which is on the border with the Niger Republic, and I believe I will be secure enough there.”

He expressed his gratitude to Nigerians for their support, trust, and for allowing him to govern them.

Buhari explained to the team, headed by Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Mohammed Bello, that he took his time to visit all 774 Local Government Areas of the nation when running for president from 2003 to 2011, and he received resounding public support.

However, the president used the opportunity to reassure Nigerians that he would not hold office for a single day longer than the period allotted for his term.
