Ohanaeze berates Ekpa for staying at home.

Simeon Ekpa, a former IPOB leader, has been criticized by the Ohanaeze Ndigbo for his actions, and the governor of Ebonyi State, Dave Umahi, has been urged to summon him to order.

In a social media-distributed video broadcast, Ekpa instructed the people of the South East to “hold a chain of sit-at-home” protests from December 9 to 14, 2022, in an effort to prevent elections from taking place in the region.

“Markets are scheduled for Tuesday, December 13 in anticipation of Biafra’s separation from Nigeria.”

The leading Igbo socio-cultural organization bemoaned the disorderly behavior and statement in response to the directive in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Dr. Alex Ogbonnia.

“They think they are making name and cheap money, but in reality, they are digging pits for themselves,” Ogbonnia said. Igbo youths were told to arm themselves last week by a young boy claiming to be the president of the Ohanaeze Youth Council (OYC).

Our main worry is that these later-day Biafran warriors’ inflammatory, subversive, and incendiary broadcasts will cause a lot of problems for the Igbo in relation to the rest of Nigeria because of their delusions.

A sit-at-home order in the South East has not, however, been authorized by IPOB. The group therefore urged residents of the Southeast, as well as friends and supporters of Biafra, to disregard such orders and carry on with their regular activities on the designated days, arguing that the sponsors of such misinformation have exposed their level of wickedness and animosity toward Igbo people.
