In Kogi, ADC expels the party leader

Kingsley Temitope Oggah, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) chairman in Kogi state, has been placed on administrative leave due to allegations of misuse of money and other anti-party behavior.

Following the state executive council meeting in Lokoja on Monday, a communiqué bearing the signature of the State Deputy Chairman, MomohJimoh Sule Gomina, announced the suspension.

The suspension of Oggah was approved by Sule Gomina in a statement. Before his suspension, the former chairman, according to him, was engaged in a number of anti-party acts meant to harm the party’s reputation.

He claims that Oggah violates the oath of office by attempting to undermine the party via excessively damaging publicity.

“Oggah’s suspension was based on various anti-party activities, gross misconduct, unguarded remarks intended to bring the party’s reputation into disrepute, and attempts to weaken our great party through unwarranted negative publicity in violation of Article 6, sections 1, 2, and 4; Article 22 section 6; and Article 32, which deals with the Oath of office,” according to the statement. stated Sule Gomina.

Oggah, he said, had also committed additional crimes, including embezzling money intended for the ward office space, misusing money for the recently held primary elections, and failing to pay ward dues.

However, the State Deputy Chairman observed that Adaji John, the secretary, had been instructed to run the party’s activities in the interim.

“Comrade Adaji John has been instructed to assume control of all party property now held by the suspended chairman and to oversee party operations temporarily.”
