Falae, an ex-SGF, ascends to the throne of Ondo and gains office.

In Akure North Local Council of Ondo State, Olu Falae, a former secretary to the government of the federation (SGF) and minister of finance, yesterday welcomed the office staff as the first crowned king of Ilu-Abo.

When presenting Falae with the instrument of appointment as the Oluabo of Ilu-Abo, Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu stated that the improvement of the community’s chieftaincy stool was based on the report and recommendations of the Justice Ajama Commission, which was established by the state’s most recent administration.

Invoking traditional leaders around the state, Akeredolu, who was represented by his chief of staff, Chief Gbenga Ale, pleaded with them not to let the upgrading create unrest and issued a warning about crises in the state’s communities.

The governor stressed that the new monarch is one of the few highly renowned and recognized individuals, not only inside Ondo State but also in Nigeria and beyond, and characterized the new monarch as a diligent elder statesman who is dedicated to the development of his community.

He said that the opening of the staff office is a significant triumph and a long-overdue step forward for the whole population of Ilu-Abo and Ondo State.

Falae indicated willingness to work with his subjects to bring about the kind of growth the town has never seen in his victory speech.
