Avoid Fraudsters, We Are Not Recruiting, WAEC Warns

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has dissociated itself from a social media post seeking qualified applicants to fill a number of open positions in the organization.

This information can be found in a statement that Mrs. Moyosola Adesina, the council’s head of public affairs, released on Saturday in Lagos.

She called the advertisement fake and deceptive, saying that scammers were behind it.

“The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) wishes to inform its stakeholders and the general public that the rumored social media recruitment advertisement for the council’s 2022–2023 academic year is untrue.

“The general public should ignore this advertisement because it’s a hoax designed to take advantage of helpless Nigerians, especially those who are desperate for work.

For the avoidance of doubt, WAEC will never demand payment from anyone in order to obtain a position on any of its platforms.

Additionally, the council only posts job openings on its official website and in national dailies, according to Adesina.
