Anambra Market is gutted by fire, destroying goods worth millions of Naira.

At Nkwo Umunze Market, Umunze in Orumba South Local Government Area of Anambra State, no less than 12 blocks of storefronts were completely destroyed by fire.

Despite the fact that there were no injuries, it was claimed that the fire started on Friday at approximately 6.16 am in the market’s New Life Line.

The cause of the fire was unclear at the time this report was submitted, however market observers said that millions of naira’s worth of goods were destroyed in the blaze.

Martin Agbili, the state fire chief, confirmed the occurrence and said that the fire’s origin was still a mystery.

According to him, a distress call concerning a fire breakout at Nkwo Umunze Market in Umunze, Orumba South LGA, Anambra State, was received at around 06:16 hours by the Anambra State Fire Service via the Deputy Governor, Onyeka Ibezim.

“We sent our firemen and firefighting vehicle to the fire area right away. Roughly eight block stores and about four batcher shops were hit by the fire breakout that came from New Life Line.

The reason of the fire breakout is unclear since no one knows how the fire began, and there were no casualties.

Agbili warned the populace to stay away from anything that may start a fire during this hot season.

He also praised individuals who put out the fire before firemen arrived, and he was grateful to Emeka Sibudu, a former deputy governor of the State, who came to the scene to show his support for the victims and the firefighters.
