Alex Iwobi Finally Explains His Departure From Arsenal Fc

Alex Iwobi, a player for Nigeria, has spoken candidly about the reason he left Arsenal.

According to the player, the Gunners ‘nudged’ him into joining Everton.

Iwobi enrolled in the Arsenal youth in 2004 and remained a member of the squad for 15 years until making his first-team debut under Arsene Wenger.

He later played 149 appearances for the Gunners, contributing 15 goals and 25 assists to their 2017 FA Cup victory.

After just one season under Unai Emery’s leadership, he departed the Emirates Stadium and signed with Everton for around £28 million.

The Nigerian international has now admitted that the Arsenal club softly pushed him away.

Iwobi remarked on The Beautiful Game podcast, “My last game was the Europa League final, and he [Emery] told to me, ‘It’s a pity I didn’t start you, I want you here next season.'”

So, Everton pushed constantly from the start to the final day.

“We’ve got an offer for you, it’s a big price, and we’re not going to obtain this money from anyplace else, [Arsenal] stated.

“That was a prod, saying, ‘There’s a winger, too, who will probably play in your position. It’s your decision.
