Juventus Of Italy Are Penalized With A 15-point Deduction.

The national soccer organization (FIGC) revealed that Juventus was docked 15 points for the current season by an Italian soccer court on Friday.

It is a heavier penalty than the nine-point deduction a soccer prosecutor had asked for earlier in the day during a hearing that examined the methods used by Serie A’s biggest teams and a few lesser clubs to handle player exchange agreements.

With 20 games remaining, Juve presently sits third in the standings with 37 points, 10 points below leaders Napoli.

Due to the reduction, they are now in 10th position.

11 Juventus directors, both past and current, were also given injunctions by the court.

These included 24 months for outgoing chairman Andrea Agnelli (who was replaced last week after leaving in November) and 30 months for Fabio Paratici (currently managing director of football at Tottenham Hotspur), a former director of sports.

Once the ruling’s justifications were made public, Juventus said that it will file an appeal with the nation’s sports guarantee authority.
